Photos: Special Events
There's no guarantee that you'll make a living taking pictures of beaches, but you'll have a great time.
Event photography can provide you or your client with value added benefits.
Beyond the Beach Photos
Event coverage can range from indoor conference facility activities at a beach resort to on location site visits to beach facilities, or recreation activities such as team building and bonfires at the beach. Each situation requires special lighting. From spot news coverage to the usual party for a corporate annual kickoff, we specialize in conference coverage ranging from one day to a week. Our travel schedule takes out on the road frequently for travel writing assignments but when we're not having fun on a story assignment for news coverage, we're glad to help you document your events.
What you'll discover by organizing your event photo list is that you can obtain nearly a year's worth of images in one event assignment. While the corporate or annual conference photos are fun and can be used in future publications, have you considered the value in using them to round up next year's sponsors? Wise event planners look to the future in this manner, showing off the sponsors and their donations with the sponsor photos appearing in brochures, follow up publications and web sites. They also are great in creating a sponsor book, a much needed visual aid when out there rounding up the donors.
In addition, you can often put together the board of directors photo at this event, and line up some photo set-ups for the upcoming magazine articles. By thinking outside the box, you get more bang for your buck. Time and again we're told that we do not need to photograph every lecture, every speaker, every attendee at a conference or event. With that "down" time in which a photographer is walking around or making phone calls, you can be using their service to nail down a variety of your photo projects. This is best done through organization and solid communication with your photographer.
We hope we've helped you consider the value in hiring a professional for your events.
