Beach Silhouettes:
Sunset afternoon, blue pacific and palms in silhouette
The Pacific Ocean glistens in the afternoon sun. It's the perfect time for silhouettes.
If you step too far away or change your angle the slightest the type of silhouette your camera sees will definitely change. Study it with a critical eye.
Palm trees once again come to the aid of silhouette picture.
Trees make great sunset silhouette at beaches.
We've mentioned this before on CaliforniaBeachPhotos.com, but it's important to tell you again just how important vertical and horizontal shapes are to your composition during beach picture taking. Very tall shapes such as towering palms have the tendency to curve due to the curvature of your wide angle lenses, designed to capture more subject matter. There are special architectural lenses that can correct the curvature problem but with photoshop you can also do some repair. Others go for a fisheye-look and they want the trees to curve. As long as you are going for the effect consciously, great! But in our case we find that palms make stately statements due to their height. You can capture that solo without people in the pictures. But for size relationship, do include people in silhouette, as well. It makes for human interest.
