While it's possible to spend days waiting for the perfect lighting, you can take what nature gives you and work with it.

We've taken high fashion models out to the beach but the look they portray states "expensive", all fine and good for apparel and products that cost a lot. But what if you are selling beach souvenirs such as t-shirts and sweats? If you are the owner of such a store, its best to get models who portray fun, youth, and who seem approachable.
Journalistic Style Modeling
Working with models at the beach I prefer to look for beaches without too many people to distract. I like to go for natural light and use existing objects such as piers and murals that we can have some interplay with to keep the sessions fun and full of smiles. The models have to make many clothin changes, try to keep their hair and face presentable and maintain energy levels that give off positive vibes in pictures. This particular model was the quintessential California girl. She wasn't a pro in terms of training, but boy, she really had the smile, and so much energy going for her. She could give a variety of looks and make simple products such as tees, hats, bags and watches look great!
